Place Value, Integers and the Number System

Understanding place value up to millions, comparing and ordering integers, negative numbers and rounding accurately.

The Four Operations — Whole Numbers and Decimals

Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with integers and decimals in real-world contexts.

Fractions — Understanding, Simplifying and Operating

Numerator and denominator, equivalent fractions, simplifying, and all four operations with fractions.

Percentages — Finding and Applying

Finding percentages of amounts, percentage increase and decrease, reverse percentage and percentage change.

Ratio and Proportion

Expressing and simplifying ratios, dividing quantities in a ratio and working with direct and inverse proportion.

Understanding and Using Formulae

Substituting values into formulae, rearranging simple formulae and applying formulae in area, speed and financial contexts.

Units of Measurement and Conversions

Metric and imperial units of length, weight, capacity and temperature — converting between units and reading scales.

Time Calculations and Timetables

Calculating elapsed time, using the 24-hour clock, reading timetables and solving time-based problems.

Perimeter, Area and Volume

Calculating perimeter and area of 2D shapes, and volume and surface area of common 3D solids.

Charts and Graphs — Reading and Interpreting

Bar charts, pictograms, line graphs, pie charts and scatter graphs — extracting information and identifying trends.

Averages — Mean, Median, Mode and Range

Calculating and interpreting all four measures of average and range for both raw and grouped data sets.

Exam Preparation and Full Practice Papers

Calculator and non-calculator timed practice papers, worked solutions, common error analysis and final exam strategy.

Can I use a calculator?

Yes — a calculator is permitted in part of the exam. The programme includes both calculator and non-calculator practice so you are fully prepared for both sections.

How long does the course take?

Most learners complete within 8–20 weeks depending on starting level and the number of hours studied per week.

What if I haven't done Maths since school?

The course starts from foundational concepts and builds progressively. Many of our most successful learners have been away from Maths for many years.
